A concerned group of trail recreationists have gotten approval and liability waivers from City Water Light and Power to clear the existing trail of downed trees. We must avoid creation of bypasses that create new trail in unauthorized locations. This has potential to damage our overall efforts with land managers to keep the trails open and work toward improved trail opportunity.

While the rain has put another damper on trail use, assuming we are all avoiding muddy trails, the sun will shine again and we will want to get out there.  If you find sections of trail blocked by downed trees, feel free to let us know so that we can endeavor to get the route cleared.  Please send me an email at if you have the ability to help rescue and maintain your trails. Future rescue efforts are being planned and many hands make for light work.

CILTA is developing trail maintenance agreements to enter into with land managers while also in the process of purchasing liability insurance. With both of these things in place we will seek to use our organizational initiative to improve our singletrack trail opportunities.

Thank you,
